Project Connect/ IST

When students appear to be struggling in the classroom, either with the academics or behavior expectations of the classroom, the teachers become very focused on finding ways to help the child experience greater success.  The teacher begins by making adjustments in the classroom, either to the instruction or to the amount of extra time spent helping the student.  If that does not seem to help the student, the teacher can refer the student to the Project Connect Team at Fawn.

Project Connect is provided to connect many levels of service to the child, by having classroom teachers and support teachers discuss each students needs.  The first thing that is required is permission from the family to begin Project Connect for any student.  The Project Connect Team has meetings every other week for the teachers to plan additional ways to help the student. Parent meetings are scheduled to assist in setting goals for the student that can be achieved in the classroom and to review the childs progress.
