Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year!  I am very excited for the second official school year of Grandview Upper Elementary school.  It is again my pleasure to welcome the district’s 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students to a fantastic school year.  I would also like to welcome the district’s Pre-K program to Grandview.   

     The summer was extremely busy here at Grandview!  Over the summer our building got new ceiling grids and tiles.  New lights have been installed in all areas of the building; they make such a difference!  Air conditioning is up and running in the library wing, auditorium, cafeteria, and office area.  It is expected that the classroom air conditioning will be operational the second week of school.  The heating will be addressed after that, with the installation of new boilers.  The custodians have been working diligently to get the building ready for the first day of school.  Grandview looks GREAT! 

     If you would like to see more of Grandview, please do not hesitate to become a parent volunteer!  I encourage interested volunteers to visit the website's Volunteer Section to obtain the necessary requirements and volunteer within the school and parent teacher organizations. 

     Now that the dust has settled, both literally and figuratively, teachers are setting up their classes and getting ready for their new students.  I am again optimistic that this will be another wonderful year!
